Donald Newman has worked at the same bottom rung job for over ten years. He has

a string of failed relationships the last of which kicked him out of his house forcing

him to move in with his much more successful younger brother. Life doesn't seem like it

could get much lower but things start to look up when he meets a nice girl at a singles

evening and get invited to a job interview the following morning.

 

However, his good mood is cut short when he is hit by a car, a car which he is convinced he saw himself driving. After this he finds himself the target of two time travelling hitmen whilst under the protection of a mysterious woman who doesn't seem all that used to being human All this is being watched over by a descendent of the last true wizard, who is rapidly catching up his ancestor in eccentricity, but just because the last true wizard died over a thousand years ago whilst serving as part of a ludicrously disfunctional elite unit of the kings knights doesn't mean that he and this socially inept unit has finished causing trouble.

 

Like Donald said, from here on things get weird ...

 

'Donald Newman' is a comedy series we are looking to produce largely in our spare time (and with our spare change) whilst we work towards our first feature. This is partly to have something original to put out into the world as a means of spreading the name of Flitter Films and partly to keep us busy and test a number of components and techniques in preparation for said feature.

 

This isn't to say we aren't taking 'Donald' seriously, this project has been a long time coming and has become a passionate pursuit for all involved. The casting has largely been done for episode one (much love to those very patient actors who have been wondering about this project for some time now) and once it is up we will begin advertising positions for subsequent episodes.

Shooting has begun on the pilot. What was originally planned as a four day shoot at the end of August ran into some complications and has wound up a five day shoot with two days delayed until mid September. The hope is still to have the pilot, which is to be broadcast online in four parts, up and running by November though expect stills and a trailer before then.

 

We don't want to reveal too much but we will show you what we can.
